a food tour of "central" village

a food tour of “central” village

First of all, I have no idea what “Central” Village is, but that’s what they call the tour given in an area that spans south Greenwich Village and north SoHo.

Second, yes I went on a food tour. You should, too. It’s a fun way to spend a Saturday afternoon, and at $40/person a pretty good deal for food and entertainment.

A few highlights…

The mortadella sandwich (pictured above) at Caffe Dante was exactly what I remember eating in Rome. Just really good, simple, ingredients.

I also really loved the Unda Bhurji Roll at Masala Times (pictured below). It’s a light wrap filled with eggs, onion and peppers. Super flavorful and filling. So good.

Our last stop was at Once Upon a Tart, and I was so tired at this point I must have forgotten to take a picture, but, and this is coming from somebody who doesn’t love sweets, the chocolate and pear tart was INCREDIBLE. Go get it.
